Florent Amodio: "I'm still in top condition, but my goal Sochi"

We continue to bring the declarations of the French national team during the press conference before the Trophée Eric Bompard. '' It's now the turn of Florent Amodio.

How do you feel to compete at home? Florent Amodio: I'm always happy to come here to compete at home, I know everyone and it's nice to skate at home. I feel a special feeling when you skate here. Do you feel under pressure? Florent Amodio: I try not to feel the pressure. There are already so many things to think about, I'm working hard and it is an honor for me to skate here with all the people who are rooting for me. I still feel a responsibility to represent my country because Chafik Besseghier and the others are not here, so I have to skate very well, taking up the name of my team that has already proven to be the highest level in the world. How did you handle your preparation for this season? Florent Amodio: I do have a precise path and I am by doing this. I have a very strict schedule because my goal is Sochi. Everything else is just a step towards the Olympic Games. I feel that I'm getting better every day. I'm working on key issues at a technical level to introduce in Sochi the best of condition. I'm trying to remain calm, in China are finished sixth but do not consider it as a snag, I see progress. I'm getting better in training so I'm happy.  Are you working with a new coach, what can you tell us about that? Florent Amodio: We not only work on the jumps, but also on athletic training, and spinning tops. I know I've already achieved a lot in this regard but I have to improve a lot to really get to the top. I know I can, I know I can get in the best conditions in Sochi, at the time the quad is not regular enough, my physical preparation is not yet at its maximum. The speech will change when insert two quads in the free and one in short. I've never worked so much and so professionally on all aspects and on all the details, not just the workout itself but also the power, sleep. And even if I can not present myself to the best of my condition, at least I'll know not to have regrets. Regarding four times, is still being processed. I can not promise anything for this race, my goal here is to skate better than in China four times in training is already giving better results. I trained in a different track than lately because of Bercy is smaller than regulation size 30x60. Shortly before coming to compete I was performing good quadruple, today did not go so well in training and I feel a bit 'frustrated but I have to get over it. Should I run four times to win.  Do not feel you are too focused on the quadruple? Florent Amodio: Yes, they probably are. My technician says that because I performed it in the past, there is no reason why I can not do it again now. So do not give up. I have to address the national, the European and then the Olympic Games, there is enough time between races and the other for work. I have two more weeks of training available after Bompard trophy, then I will be in Vaujany where there are excellent conditions for training and then I will be in Grenoble where you will perform the national. On what did you work after the Cup of China? Florent Amodio: I got 4 levels of all, the concept of the program, the dress and the music were fine, but I have to hit the technical elements. What do you think you can get here at the Trophee Eric Bompard? Florent Amodio: I know there's Patrick Chan and Yuzuru Hanyu but I want to be always on top, regardless of race. Of course it is difficult to skate here because there are friends and my family, you are not allowed any error, the audience wants you to go well and that does not fall otherwise keeps you off the podium. In any case will always want to come to compete for this event until I retire, because I love to skate here.
