An ever recurring question concerns the real differences between artistic roller skating and ice. The answer, according to some trivial, & egrave; ugrave & much more; complicated than you might think. A young skater, which engages on both sides, tried to deepen the 'topic.

My name Metka Kuk, have a 17 year old girl and skate wheel that is on ice. Many people ask me what the differences are between these two similar sports, so & # 768; I decided to interview two experts Samo Kokorovec and Silvo S & # 780; vajger.
Both have practiced ice skating and skates and have defended the colors of their respective countries in the World Championships. S & # 780; vajger wore the shirt of & rsquo; former Yugoslavia, while Kokorovec has won numerous World and European titles for the & rsquo; Italy.
With what discipline you started? Kokorovec: "I started skating on wheels to four years. A family friend had children who skated and had convinced my parents to take me and my brother to try. We did and we continued."
S & # 780; vajger: "Even I have started on wheels when I was 6 years old. On warm summer evenings I often went to the park Tivoli Ljubljana to watch the skaters / ici and their harmonic movements, jumps and spins. So & # 768; I started out of curiosity & # 768; to train. How are assigned scores in the races? S & # 780; vajger: "In roller skating scores ranging from & rsquo; 1-10 for both artistic components that for quality & # 768; techniques. In ice skating scores are more & # 768; accurate. The technical score includes jumps, spins and steps, and is evaluated by a specialist decides the level of the elements performed from 1 to 4. The task of judges and & # 768; penalize or reward l & rsquo; execution assigning -3 to +3 points. The artistic score evaluates the choreography, the speed & # 768 ;, the skating, l & rsquo; interpretation, l & rsquo; elegance and preparing items. Why & # 769; do you think the roller skating is not & # 768; an Olympic sport?
