The show of figure skating in Turin: Chen folds Hanyu, for Italy the 6th place of Grassl among the juniors

The PalaVela hosted the Grand Prix finals with the great duel between the American and the Japanese, but not only.

A thrilling show, from the duel between Nathan Chen and Yuzuru Hanyu, to the magic on the ice of the couple formed by Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron. The finals of the figure skating Grand Prix, staged at the PalaVela in Turin, have certainly not disappointed expectations; the world record signed by the American champion, who beat the Japanese called to the company after a complicated short program, was perhaps the highest point of an event that saw Italy propose the talent of the very young Daniel Grassl. The 17-year-old South Tyrolean was the protagonist of the junior final, finished in sixth place with some regrets: the bishop of the Young Goose Academy, in fact, carried out a free program of 123.71 points, a lot below the seasonal performances shown so far, losing a position with respect to the fifth place short. "I had to change my shoes after the short, so I only had one day to adapt to the new pair, which was very different from the previous one. I tried anyway, but the performance was not what I wanted. In any case it was a good opportunity to participate in the finals of the Grand Prix, it was a goal this season, "concluded Grassl after a race won by the Japanese Sato before the Russians Mozalev and Samsonov.
