After four seasons of competitive activity, the number one couple of the Italian movement has officially dissolved.

In the last months the two athletes had first decided to renounce the Grand Prix and subsequently announced a sabbatical period to rest. But today through the social channels it was Marchei herself who announced to all the fans that her career and that of her training partner Ondrej Hotarek will now take two different paths.
"In the last three years with Ondrej Hotarek I had the chance to experience the real high level - wrote Valentina on Instagram -, to live skating as I liked it, sweating but having fun ... even though it was years of hard work they brought us particularly significant gratifications and have won over the love of all of you, more and more numerous fans, but my passion for the two blades has not yet subsided and I feel I'm still hungry. Fame to win ... But now Ondrej and I have decided to take two different paths for our near future.I would like to chase another Olympiad and then go on to skate daily, with the usual effort, to introduce myself to shiny at the start of the next competitive season, in fact, everything could change in a year. "
The intention of the Marchei is therefore to continue until Beijing 2022, while the future of the thirty-four year old skater of Czech origin is still uncertain. What is certain is that we will no longer see on ice one of the most competitive blue couples ever, able last year to conquer the sixth position at the Pyeongchang Olympic Games.
