Canadian premier Trudeau has announced the impressive structure that will connect Canada to Detroit.

One of the legends of this sport, Gordie Howe, not for nothing dubbed "Mr. Hockey ", will now have a bridge in his honor. A structure that will connect Canada, his home country and, of course, Detroit, the city where he made his fortune as a player. The "Gordie Howe International Bridge" will join Highway 401 in Ontario at Interstate 75 in Michigan. And its construction began a few days ago, as announced by the Canadian premier Justin Trudeau. It will be 2.5 kilometers long and will have six lanes. It will be ready by 2024.
Howe was born in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan in 1928 and died in Ohio in 2016, aged 88. He played 25 years for the Red Wings, winning four Stanley Cups. He has participated 21 times at the All-Star Game, has won six times both the Art Ross Trophy, as the best scorer of the NHL and the Hart Memorial Trophy, as best regular season player.
In total he played 32 seasons as a professional, including experience at the end of his career in the WHA (the World Hockey Association) with the Houston Aeros and the New England Whalers, the latter then merged into NHL in the 1979/80 season, giving Howe the last appeared in the most spectacular hockey championship in the world. In reality "Mr. Hockey "retired in 1971. The following year he entered the Hall of Fame. Then he was pushed by his wife Colleen, his agent, and in 1973 he agreed to return to play with WHA with two of his sons. An experience that, years later, he described as the most beautiful of his life. In 1997, at age 69, Howe played his last professional race for the Detroit Vipers of the International Hockey League, which put him under contract for a single day: thanks to that game Howe became the only one to have played in the professionals in every decade of his career, from the '40s to the' 90s.
Between NHL and WHA he scored 2,421 matches, 1,071 goals, and 1,518 assists for 2,589 points. He was a player who put on the ice the intensity and the character besides the quality. In the hockey world it is called hat-trick when a player scores a hat-trick. Well there is also the "Gordie Howe hat-trick", which sums up perfectly his style of play: a goal, an assist and a fight.
He played against Maurice "Rocket" Richard, but also against a young Gretzky. A bridge between generations, indeed.
After a song dedicated to him, a participation in an episode of the Simpsons, a part in a film and several statues now also comes a real international bridge.
Gordie Howe was this. For many the greatest. Mr. Hockey, in fact.
