Canada beats for three to two in overtime and the United States claimed a fourth consecutive Olympic gold medal in women's hockey.

The first period is essentially the study, with the two teams that fail to unlock the score despite the ten minutes in total (six in favor of the United States, four in favor of Canada) powerplay. At the first rest so it goes zero to zero.
Few emotions even in the first half of the second period. The game is released on the twelfth minute, when Meghan Duggan lead as the United States, setting the score to zero in on one which ends the second period.
The third period is one of the most daring of the history of ice hockey women. After two minutes the United States doubles with Alex Carpenter, a double advantage which seems to close the game. Canada tries in vain all the way until the last five minutes, when Brianne Jenner halved the disadvantage, forcing coach Kevin Dineen to focus all out by taking off the goalie Shannon Szabados in an attempt to catch the draw. And the miracle happens at the last minute with a goal by Marie-Philip Poulin, bringing the score at two at prolonging the challenge in overtime.
At this point, the U.S., tired and demoralized for the occasion incredibly lost, in fact, give up, with Poulin becomes heroine of the evening made the winning goal that gives Canada the gold medal number four in a row at the Olympics, the most unexpected and perhaps that is the most beautiful. For the United States a silver burning which repeats that won four years ago in Vancouver, while the bronze goes to Switzerland and Sweden in the final rule for the third place.
