Big party in Tolmezzo for the Fisi Friuli Venezia Giulia Committee

A very crowded Candoni Theater welcomed yesterday in Tolmezzo (UD) the main athletes of the FISI Regional Committee of Friuli Venezia Giulia who last winter became protagonists of a great competitive season and launched the great events that will be held in the Friulian mountains in the coming months .

The Sports Festival - Awarding the regional skiing 2019, promoted by the FISI Committee of Friuli Venezia Giulia, chaired by Maurizio Dunnhofer, saw the awarding of the companies and the top three winners in each discipline and category (over 200 athletes in alpine skiing, skiing in fund, biathlon, jumping, Nordic combined, ski mountaineering, freestyle and snowboard). Many champions were also present, including the three Olympic gold medalists Silvio Fauner, Gabriella Paruzzi and Pietro Piller Cottrer, the World Cup sprinter Emanuele Buzzi and the world junior champion Luca Del Fabbro. In the front row, also, the parliamentary Aurelia Bubisutti, the vice-president of the regional council Stefano Mazzolini, the regional councilor Luca Boschetti, the councilor of the FISI Enzo Sima, the president of the regional CONI Giorgio Brandolin accompanied by the former blue of the high jump Alessandro Talotti , the vice-president of PrimaCassa Fvg Giuseppe Varisco, all welcomed by the mayor of Tolmezzo Francesco Brollo and by the sport councilor Francesco Martini. On the eve of its closure, a very rich season of satisfaction for the regional ski movement was traced, capable of winning medals at the World Championships in four different disciplines (the aforementioned Luca Del Fabbro in the background, Lisa Vittozzi and Daniele Capellari in biathlon, Lara Della Mea in alpine skiing, Mara Martini in ski mountaineering) and 84 podiums at the Italian Championships. President Dunnhofer, after recalling the numbers of the Regional Committee (4650 members belonging to 64 companies), underlined the importance of the snow world even beyond sport: "Skiing is also fundamental for the economy of our mountain - he said - I thank the FVG Region for this, which supports us financially and provides us with the tracks, well aware of the importance of our movement ". A reference to the EYOF 2023, the European Youth Olympic Festival, which will see the entire Friuli Venezia Giulia as its protagonist, is inevitable: "First of all thanks to Giorgio Brandolin and the president of the Region Massimiliano Fedriga, who believed in this event when I proposed it - the words of Dunnhofer - it will be a very intense effort, which we must all do together, and then I hope that many regional boys of the 2005 and 2006 classes will be included in the Italian team, it will not be easy, having each nation only four places per specialty, but we will work to achieve this goal ". Among other things, on the occasion Brandolin anticipated that work is also underway on a Trieste-Koper candidacy for the summer EYOFs, while Sima announced that the presentation of the 2019-2020 FVG Winter Tourism season will take place on Thursday 24 October. Many important events are scheduled for the new season, which will officially begin on Tuesday, October 1st: from the return of the Snowboard World Cup to Piancavallo, to the European Alpine Ski Cup in Sella Nevea, passing through the Italian Children Championships, also in alpine skiing, on Zoncolan. Furthermore, an award was presented to the Sci Club Due of Ronchi / Monfalcone and to the Sciatori Creta Grauzaria Club of Moggio Udinese for the 50 years of affiliation to the FISI.
