Biography: Max Franz is an Austrian speed specialist in alpine skiing, active on the World Cup circuit since the late 2000s. Born in 1989, he established himself as one of the most powerful downhill racers of his generation, collecting three World Cup victories and multiple podiums in downhill and super-G, as well as a downhill bronze medal at the 2017 World Championships in St. Moritz. In November 2022 he suffered a very serious crash in training at Copper Mountain, breaking both lower legs and facing a long recovery with several surgeries and more than two seasons away from racing. In 2025 he returned to snow as a forerunner at the Saalbach World Championships, rebuilding confidence step by step towards a full World Cup comeback. His attacking line and willingness to push the limit on the toughest speed courses still make him a reference point for downhill and super-G fans. (aggiornamento: )
