In Levi we are working for the women's double slalom: the opening to the public from abroad is under discussion

On 20-21 November the classic stage of the World Cup on the Finnish snow; the organizing committee works to return to normal.

Four weeks after Soelden, with the interlude the previous week of the parallels of Lech / Zuers, a World Cup will start from Levi which, precisely with the traditional slalom in Finland, will really take shape. For the second consecutive year, exceptionally there will still be two women's slaloms and none at the men's level, to "compact" the races between the two circuits and the various disciplines. If in 2020 Petra Vlhova triumphed on both occasions, the next 20 and 21 November will already be a total clash between the holder of the absolute crystal ball, Mikaela Shiffrin, Katharina Liensberger, Wendy Holdener, Michelle Gisin and all the others to win that award as well special that the World Cup Levi guarantees, with a reindeer given to the winner. If last year only a minimal presence was guaranteed at the local level, the organizing committee is working to open it to the public also from abroad, although it is clarified that it is still too early to define the choice, in agreement with the local health authorities. and the FIS. No problem, however, for the artificial snow guaranteed by the storage of 200 thousand cubic meters of snow (which will be used not only on the Levi Black), an operation that in Levi has already begun in spring 2016 and, every year, guarantees the disputing of the races beyond the temperatures in the weeks preceding the event. "Last year we demonstrated our preparation and ability to host the World Cup in all circumstances, even during a pandemic - the words of Iiro Kaukoniemi, general secretary of World Cup Levi - Our hope was to bring back the men in Levi as early as next fall, but now we are focusing on taking care of the organization in this exceptional period. Finland has a good women's team, so the change also offers the opportunity for success in the competitive arena as well. In terms of audience and guest presence, we are confident that we can provide a great experience to all participants and we will definitely return to the more normal concept, where various services and events will complement the competition itself.
