Alice in Wonderland trains and thinks about the future: Robinson, now you just need ... continuity

The phenomenal New Zealander has won the first and last giant of a season that has already consecrated her, but at 18 she has just begun her journey. And on the other side of the world he works very hard on the physical.

It simply frightened everyone, in his last appearance of the season in the World Cup (it was February 15), when in Kranjska Gora he dominated the giant on a terrible, very hard Podkoren, from which he came out triumphant despite a serious mistake in the first run. There is no doubt that Alice Robinson represents the future of the discipline, she capable at 17 years of opening the year with the first triumph in the World Cup in Soelden, ahead of 6 cents to a certain Mikaela Shiffrin, and to close it just taking also the final giant, since the appointments of Ofterschwang, Are and Cortina then jumped. Do you want for the final cancellations, but also for the lack of continuity (normal at your age) that saw you “puncture” the three races following the start on the Rettenbach (with reduced preparation, especially in Killington, for the problem at knee already remedied before the season debut), Alice was unable to play the specialty cup, finishing in 5th place and only 107 points from Federica Brignone, resulting in the end the most successful gigant player of the season like the Aosta Valley with two pearls. It is evident, however, that the extraordinary New Zealander born in 2001 will be one of the candidates for the podium in every race also in the next season, but with perspectives that will gradually widen to other horizons: with such a physique, which Robinson is also training in these weeks in Queenstown, where she returned before the quarantine period even took off in her country (Alice is preparing with a lot of dry work), in fact she also thinks about the super-g in a decisive way. The first appearance in speed in a CdM race, in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, did not go too well with the exit after a few doors, but already in the subsequent European Cup tests in Val Sarentino (with a 6th and a 7th place) and the fourth place with medal touched at the junior World Championships, have shown how the potential exists and how much more work will have to be done on the slalom in a combined perspective, already tasted in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee.
