What about the World Cup races in China? Pre Olympic confirmed with special measures

The doubts about the 2020/21 season calendar do not concern the women's speed races, scheduled for the end of February. And the other disciplines will also go to the East.

After the cancellation of the North American races of the next Alpine Skiing World Cup, with Lake Louise, Beaver Creek and Killington returning to the calendar only in the 2021/22 vintage, one wonders which other events will undergo more or less partial changes, with the clear will of the FIS to proceed in blocks of races, or to divide the technical ones from the fast ones as much as possible. The dedicated routes, from the hotel to the competition site to isolate athletes and staff from organization and media, will be valid for the Soelden opening as for all the other stages, including Levi which is one of the few sites to have to manage the presence of both the female and male circuit, on the occasion of the slalom of 21-22 November which remain confirmed. According to our information, in the next FIS congress which, between the end of September and the beginning of October, will define once and for all the calendar of the 2020/21 World Cup, the Chinese competitions dedicated to women will be staged regularly: from 24 to 28 February 2021 (three tests, then downhill and super-g), two Olympic speed pre-races are planned for the pink sector in Yanqing, one year from the Beijing 2022 Games, after the cancellation of the men's ones last February, precisely because of the Coronavirus situation that was already rampant in the country at that time. FIS and local organizers have already studied a plan that includes dedicated flights for athletes and staff, with trips around the country to avoid any kind of contact and ensure the conduct of the competitions, as will happen for all other disciplines that include the pre-Olympic, including the snowboard world championships.
