Ester Ledecka rewarded again as sportswoman of the year and increasingly projected towards skiing

The Prague champion chosen for the fourth time as the best athlete in the Czech Republic in winter disciplines. Determining the calendars to share with the snowboard.

In the 2019/2020 season, Ester Ledecka has decidedly projected towards alpine skiing, effectively giving up the fight for the general classification in the Snowboard World Cup, where she nevertheless took 1st and 2nd place in the two races in January, between Bad Gastein and Rogla. With the first triumph in the Ski World Cup, taking the first of the two descents of Lake Louise by force, the Czech champion wrote the story becoming the first athlete to succeed in the challenge of winning a race of the maximum circuit in the two disciplines (and in the same season!), after having already achieved something incredible with the gold brace at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games. The growth of Ledecka was evident in the fast specialties, just think of the 6th place in the last race of last season, when the Prague driver touched the podium in the most technical super-g of the circuit, in that of La Thuile (and with a very unfavorable bib for that day). That's why the bi-olympic champion has decided to aim, at 25, in a convinced way on alpine skiing where he will be able to fight for the world medals in Cortina and also for that downhill World Cup already caressed a few months ago, finishing second in the ranking of specialties behind Corinne Suter (and third in the combined one, with the first career podium in the discipline). In recent days, during a direct instagram in the Atomic house, the brand that supplies the materials, Ester still spoke of the desire to continue with training and competitions also on the table, but to combine everything, the definitive drafting of the CdM calendars, which could undergo changes by the next FIS autumn congress. In the meantime, in the Czech Republic she has been awarded the best sports competition in the country for winter disciplines: it is the fourth time that Ledecka has triumphed in this ranking, beating snowboarder Eva Samkova for 2020, fourth in the World Cup of snowboard cross won by Michela Moioli, after the 2019 crystal ball that also brought her the Czech number 1 award. For Ester Ledecka it was a domain: 41 votes against the 6 collected by Samkova and only one by the cross-country skier Katerina Razymova. “I am grateful for this title, last season was really successful for me - Ester's words about the award ceremony - I owe it to my whole team, who has done a fantastic job: I always say it, but they really do the difference". To manage training, travel and competitions in two such different disciplines as alpine skiing and snowboarding, it can only be phenomena.
