The 2020/21 World Cup calendar continues to evolve and undergo changes, always provisional as the final draft will only take place in three weeks, during the FIS council scheduled in Zurich.
As reported by Ski Chrono, as regards the women's circuit, which after the possible double slalom of Levi will not have the North American stages of Killington and Lake Louise, we should return to the original program for Courchevel; a single giant in the Savoyard town, on the original date of Tuesday 15 December, instead of the double challenge between the wide doors on the Stade Emile-Allais where Federica Brignone triumphed in 2019. The reason? Sankt Moritz asked (and apparently obtained) to keep his racing weekend for December 12-13, instead of bringing it forward by a week (and at this point we will need to find a location for the first stage of December), with descent and super-g in Engadine and the cancellation, as is well known, of the parallel.
On Friday, among other things, a meeting was held in the prefecture of Savoy with the various organizers of the World Cup, including Courchevel and Val d''Isère, but in terms of public attendance for now things they do not change, despite the pandemic emergency in France. The rule still applies (for now updated to 31 October), which provides for events up to 5 thousand spectators, but clearly further evaluations will be made in the coming weeks.
