Two podiums in the World Cup at the age of 22 and the 5th final place in the World Cup downhill classification.

Kira Weidle is the new face of German speed, after a 2018/19 season that saw her immediately take 3rd place in the inaugural descent of Lake Louise, to then repeat herself on the same step of the podium (for her second time in the first three of a CDM competition) two months later, on the home snows in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The '96 native Stuttgart class has already shown a certain continuity, too, if we think it has collected over 300 points in the specialty and placed 4th in the second downhill in Cortina as well, amazing everyone for its smoothness.
An exponential growth that has not yet been seen in super-g, where he has only got 12 points, but Weidle has plenty of time to go up again starting from the summer training sessions, which began in mid-August on the snows of Saas Fee.
"Both mentally and physically, it is exhausting to face all that is needed to emerge at the highest levels - Kira confesses to the German media - I always try to get the most out of myself and I am fortunate not to have suffered serious injuries so far; I had a little back pain, but nothing to worry about. I can't see the winter coming ... ".
The Teutonic downhill racer is a candidate, along with the Austrian block and Corinne Suter, the main contender of Sofia Goggia and Ilka Stuhec, probably considered at present to be the reference in the specialty. "To be always there, a series of factors must be combined, the right performance in day X and also a bit of luck. Of course, I hope that the two podiums obtained last season are only the beginning, but I have to improve a lot ".
Finally, a sort of warning to rivals: “I really like training and doing a lot of work; together with my teammate Meike Pfister we have always pushed each other, but it is not easy to reach this level and above all stay there. I try, day after day ".
