The Swiss champion risks Soelden for a fibula fracture, but the goal is to return to the top for Levi. According to the South Tyrolean technician, who works for Swiss-Ski, it could have been much worse.

The injury occurred to Wendy Holdener, during a training session between the narrow poles in Saas-Fee, is certainly important news considering the first part of a World Cup that may not see the n ° 4 in the world on the track. slalom and sixth in WCSL between the wide doors of the giant, already thinking of the opening in Soelden on October 17th which is strongly at risk for the 27 year old from Unteriberg.
The fracture in the right fibula, fortunately, is not broken down and does not require surgery, so much so that already today Wendy (followed last spring by the Austrian technician Klaus Mayrhofer, ed) was at home on crutches and, via social media, she released the only post-injury declarations: "I will try to return to skiing as soon as possible, fortunately no surgery is needed".
On the columns of the "Blick", on the other hand, the South Tyrolean technician Alois Prenn, who works in the Swiss-Ski team, intervened: "For Soelden there is hope, but it is not the goal as we can indicate for Levi (first slalom set for November 21st) ”, even if before the Finnish trip there would be the parallel weekend in Lech / Zuers, at risk with a calendar to be reviewed (in early October) at FIS.
Prenn explained that “it could have been a lot worse, as Wendy got on and did a half somersault, falling on her back. The knee risked jumping, at first she tried to leave, but the pain was very strong and we immediately went to Zurich ”.
In the coming weeks, hopefully by the end of September, we will try to restart with gradual training, but there is still no date for the return on the snow of one of the most anticipated women also in the 2020/21 season.
