Lie and Schneenberger, successful double operation in Innsbruck: for Kajsa recovery faster than expected

Last night, the unfortunate sprinters who fell in the super-g on the "VolatA" ended up under the knife due to the fracture of the tibia and fibula. For the Norwegian there is no feared injury to the cruciate of the left knee.

A dramatic double fall in less than an hour, in both cases with the skis that did not release and caused twists and a serious injury for both Kajsa Vickhoff Lie and Rosina Schneeberger. Both sprinters forced to leave the super-G in Val di Fassa by helicopter, for first aid at the Trento hospital, were operated on yesterday evening in Innsbruck; finally good news arrives, especially in the case of the Norwegian for whom it was feared, in addition to the fracture of the tibia and fibula, also a cruciate injury of the left knee. There is only a small break, as the Norwegian federation communicated in the morning, and the surgery was satisfactory enough to make the Scandinavian medical director, Dr. Marc Strauss, say that Kajsa will be able to return to training between six months, starting rehabilitation in the next few weeks. Rosina Schneeberger was operated on at the same university clinic in Innsbruck: same type of injury, tibia and fibula of the right leg. As reported by the OESV, the fracture was stabilized with an intramedullary nail by the primary Rohit Arora and his team.
