The 22-year-old junior champion in slalom (twice), got her two podiums in the World Cup between the giant's wide doors. "Now I know what I need to improve."

It is a talent that will probably be talked about more and more. Born in 1998, she needed a couple of years of settling, after that first podium podium obtained at a very young age, in the (particular) giant of Lenzerheide in 2018. Last season saw Meta Hrovat grow and become the reference of the national team Slovenian: 25th in the overall World Cup standings (the best in her country), capable of climbing again on the third step of the podium in giant, just in the last contested on the snow at home in Kranjska Gora, the 22 year old former champion of the junior world in slalom (both in Davos 2018 and in Val di Fassa 2019, where he threw away the gold in the challenge with Alice Robinson), has risen in level especially between the wide doors.
The ninth place in the specialty WCSL places it already close to the first sub-group of merit, while in slalom (24 ^) there is still need to work; Meta, who started training again in May thanks to the possibility of skiing on the Slovenian side of the Kanin-Sella Nevea area, explained to the site "siol.net" that he also wanted to aim at the super-g, preparatory in particular for the combined on the which he wants to invest.
“I know that I still have to grow a lot, but with a team by my side I can identify the objectives to improve myself - explained Hrovat - I need a team to follow me, but at the same time the comparison with the teammates is important. What do I need? Being faster on plans and generally having fun, aiming for quality rather than quantity. During the lockdown period I worked on physical preparation, but also on the mental level: I believe that next season will offer a challenge for everyone, from this point of view, but I want to live it without too much pressure ”.
