No surprises for Garmisch: Marta Bassino returns for the fast races in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Nine blue players called up for the weekend in Bavaria, the third in a row with descent and super-g.

There are no surprises in the blue squads ahead of the Garmisch-Partenkirchen women's matches. The third consecutive weekend with fast races, given that in Bavaria there are downhill (Saturday 8) and super-g (Sunday 9), with the start of the program on Thursday with the first test, it will see nine blue on the track. The same eight protagonists to Rosa Khutor, namely Federica Brignone, Sofia Goggia, Elena Curtoni, Nicol and Nadia Delago, Francesca Marsaglia, Laura Pirovano and Verena Gasslitter, in addition to the expected return of Marta Bassino, who had skipped the Russian stage to train on the snow at home, between Artesina, Prato Nevoso and Limone Piemonte. A single victory in history for the blue, with Isolde Kostner downhill in 1994 (on the day of the dramatic death of Ulrike Maier), but six other podiums including the four second places of Sofia Goggia, in the two descents of 2018 and between descent and super-g last year, just back in the race after the fracture to the malleolus.
