Twenty-four hours after the recovery race of the one canceled in Rosa Khutor, in Crans-Montana a second descent will be staged on Saturday morning (at 10.30 am), the penultimate appointment of the season's specialties.
A contest with a thousand implications, starting from the possibility that Corinne Suter will have to close the games to win her first crystal ball; Switzerland leads the ranking in the discipline with 120 points on Ester Ledecka and 127 on Federica Brignone, today seventh and eager for an even more important result that would be worth a lot for the overall World Cup standings.
The Aosta Valley is -77 from Mikaela Shiffrin and, beyond the overtaking which could then take place on Sunday in combined (the same is true for Petra Vlhova, who follows Fede at 27 points behind), she is looking for an important placement on a track that is well adapts to its characteristics. Compared to the bib number 1 of the first descent, this time Brignone was able to choose more widely and brought home the 7, thus taking after Suter, who will have the 3, the same Ledecka with the 5 and the first blue, Nicol Delago with on 6. The winner of race 1, Lara Gut-Behrami, will have 17 and will exit the gate just before Vlhova, drawn with 18.
Five other blue ones in the race, with the renunciation of Verena Gasslitter: Elena Curtoni bib 15, Marta Bassino with 16, Francesca Marsaglia 19, Laura Pirovano with 29 and Nadia Delago with 33.
