Today the FIS snow control in the Lower Austrian resort: the women's World Cup will close 2022 with three technical competitions not seen since 2016, when Shiffrin won them all. In 2020, however, Bassino was flying before the interruption.

Everything is ok for Semmering, with the FIS which this morning officially confirmed the triptych of women's events which, from Tuesday 27 to Thursday 29 December, will represent the final stage of 2022.
Triptych that became such with the relocation on the calendar, in the Austrian location, of the giant canceled last October 22nd in Soelden: we will therefore start with the third round of the season between the wide doors, with the "original" giant the following day, Wednesday 28 (heats always fixed at 10.00 and 13.00), finally closing with the slalom under the lights of the floodlights, with the now classic times which include the first run at 15.00 and the second at 18.30.
On the "Panorama" the last time was competed in 2020, with the giant slalom canceled however in the middle of the race (when Marta Bassino was second after the 1st heat) due to wind, while the slalom saw the success of Michelle Gisin, at her first and so far only victory in CdM.
In 2018 (remembering that Semmering is scheduled every two years, alternating as the year-end stage with Lienz) the last complete giant, conquered by Petra Vlhova, with the slalom for Mikaela Shiffrin in front of the Slovak. That race 4 years ago represents the last seal of the American in Lower Austria, which arrived after the hat-trick obtained by Shiffrin herself in 2016, precisely on the same dates (December 27-29) and with the same program as this 2022, with two giants before the slalom.
