Season over for Stephanie Brunner

The Austrian Stephanie Brunner, who returned in October from the first serious injury of her career that she obtained in March during the Austrian championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, suffered the exact same injury of just under ten months ago in a giant training at Pozza di Fassa.

The magnetic resonance has in fact highlighted a new rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and the meniscus of the left knee for the 24-year-old from Tux, which will be operated tomorrow at the Hochrum clinic in Innsbruck. Brunner has finally conquered his first podium last November 24th, finishing third in the women's giant of the Killington World Cup won by Federica Brignone. The talented Stephanie finished four more times in the first six this winter, including the fourth place in the last season giant so far disputed, that of Semmering, and the sixth place in the parallel slalom of St. Moritz. "It's definitely a bitter moment, but I look forward positively. I was able to come back strong once and I will succeed a second time "he commented.
