Now it's official: the giant canceled in Soelden last Saturday, will take place on Tuesday 27 December on the "Panorama", where another race between wide doors and a slalom was already scheduled on 28 and 29 of the month.

Voices confirmed, on the other hand the priority was of Austria, holder of the rights of the opening in Soelden and with the possibility of recovering the female giant canceled last Saturday on the Rettenbach in another home stage.
And so it will be, given that the FIS has formalized this afternoon the decision to recover the opening race of the 2022/23 World Cup in Semmering, creating a hat-trick on the “Panorama”, from 27 to 29 December next.
One month after Killington and following the race in Sestriere, the one in Lower Austria will therefore be the third specialty of the season, on Tuesday 27 December with the 1st heat set at 10.00 and the second at 13.00. The same times already maintained for the “original” race of the following day, while the slalom on Thursday 29 will be held with the opening heats at 15.00 and, as usual, the decisive one under the spotlight from 18.30.
There is a recent precedent of a trio of women's races in Semmering, on the same dates (27-29 December) as the stage six years ago: it was 2016 and Mikaela Shiffrin took advantage of the opportunity to slip a victory behind the 'other, dominating both the two giants and the slalom on the Panorama, while the last races held in those parts, with the classic year-end alternation with Lienz, date back to 2020 when the giant jumped due to too much wind (it stopped before '' start of the 2nd heat), while the slalom saw Michelle Gisin's first, and so far only CdM victory.
