Vreni Schneider turns 50: Greetings!

Happy birthday to Vreni Schneider! Celebrates half a century of life the Swiss, numbers in hand, & egrave; was the pi & ugrave; winning slalomgigantista ever.

Born November 26, 1964 in Elm, a tiny village in the canton of Glarus, Verena Schneider, known by all as & ldquo; Vreni & rdquo ;, four years began for the first time on skis and in later years he actually exhibited gi & agrave; girlish his immense talent. His debut in the World Cup & egrave; dated December 4, 1983 when it arrives twenty-eighth in the giant Val-d & rsquo; Is & egrave; re. On 15 December of & rsquo; following year, ninth in the slalom at Madonna di Campiglio and only two days pi & ugrave; Later, in the giant Santa Caterina, won his first Cup race. To win in goal will have tight & agrave; wait two years but then practically will not stop & agrave; pi & ugrave ;. His palmares speaks of 20 wins in giant slalom and one in 34 in combined at the World Cup for a total of 55 hits, third all time behind the 62 by Annemarie Pr & ouml; ll and 59 of Lindsey Kildow-Vonn. The podiums are totals 101: 47 in slalom (again behind the 56's Marlies Schild), 46 in Giant (record), second in super-G, downhill and 5 in 1 combo. He won three World Cups absolute in 1989, 1994 and 1995, five giant trophies in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1991 and 1995 and six slalom in 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994 and 1995. At the Calgary Olympics of 1988 had two goals d & rsquo; gold in slalom and giant just as he managed & Igrave; Alberto Tomba at that & rsquo; edition die games, then, after leaving without medals from Albertville 1992, Lillehammer in 1994 was gold in slalom to six years after the first, in the combined silver and bronze in giant. World Cup & egrave; was gold in giant slalom in Crans Montana in 1987, again in gold and silver in giant slalom and combined in Vail in 1989, gold in slalom and bronze in the combined in Saalbach 1991. His best season was 1988-1989: won all seven slalom scheduled in the World Cup, six giants of seven (what manc & ograve; if aggiudic & ograve; compatriot Maria Walliser and she was third behind even the Slovenian Mateja Svet , the one that beff & ograve; slalom world Vail) and, in Altenmarkt, l & rsquo; unique combination of his career, that port & ograve; the number of successes in 14 seasonal, record ever achieved n & eacute; first n & eacute; after both in men and in women's field. L & rsquo; last victory, again as then riuscir & agrave; Alberto Tomba three years later, took her in & rsquo; last race of his career, the slalom, Bormio on March 19, 1995. All remember her for her eternal shy smile but especially for its infinite class that made her win everywhere despite a style not just beautiful to look at, with his head sunk between his shoulders, that will be & agrave; imitated by one who just blink & agrave; his record of success in slalom, l & rsquo; Austrian Marlies Schild, that December 29, 2013 in Lienz arriver & agrave; at an altitude of 35 successes in goal narrow. Vreni currently runs a school ski and snowboard and a sports shop in his Elm, & egrave; married since 1999 and has two sons, Florian and Flavio. Best wishes for your first 50 years, legendary, unforgettable Vreni!
