The decision of the FIS is official after today's cancellation on a Streif in complicated snow conditions, with a lot of rain falling in the past hours. The weather should help save all Hahnenkammrennen races.

In Kitzbuehel you can do everything, we know it well, even more so in such an exceptional season and in which, after the cancellations of Wengen (and all the previous ones, starting from the North American trip), every race must be safeguarded. And so, after having raised the white flag already at dawn for the regular dispute of the second men's downhill on the Streif, the FIS and the organizers have implemented plan B, hoping that the rain mixed with snow of the last hours has not ruined too much is the surface of a track that already presented not ideal conditions yesterday (with temperatures well above freezing), in addition to the critical situation of the final jump which was finally smoothed on Friday afternoon.
The original descent (the one on Friday was the recovery of Wengen) will therefore be staged on Sunday, starting at 10.20, the same time when the super-g was scheduled, which instead slips to 10.45 on Monday 25. Basically, There will be no recovery day between the Hahnenkammrennen races and the slalom on Tuesday evening in Schladming, but the Kitzbuehel triptych should be saved.
