Austria is ... safe. After the two podiums of Matthias Mayer in descent, the expected victory in the Kitzbuehel temple arrives at the third and last opportunity, with Vincent Kriechmayr who unlocks (he had not yet rejoiced in the season) in the fourth super-g of the season, exceptionally moved to the day of Monday, for what is the second Austrian success of the season after Mayer's downhill in Bormio.
The same “Mothl” completes the home triumph by finishing third at 55 cents, even if a serious mistake in the two corners above the jump that precedes the Hausbergkante, cost the Carinthian the possible first place. Marco Odermatt was only 12 cents away for the second pearl of his career in super-g, but the Swiss is a great second place (also in terms of the general classification), who loses the race in the final schuss at over 130 km / h.
On the other hand, Christof Innerhofer missed only 4 cents to take his third podium in Kitz, but the revival of the blue veteran is truly splendid: fourth as yesterday in the downhill, with bib number 2 which on the one hand favored him for better visibility than many other rivals (Mayer himself, with the 9, already had much less), but obviously a disadvantage with very few references on the track, preceded only by Walder who, among other things, then finished fifth and then immediately behind him 7 tenths from Kriechmayr.
