Alexis Pinturault has already decided: no summer skiing in Argentina, he will train in the Alps from August

Even before knowing the definitive situation linked to the restrictions (with the Italian national team itself at stake), the winner of the last World Cup opted for a preparation similar to that of 2020.

Last year represented a de facto obligation, with the dramatic pandemic situation, after years of training in winter conditions on the snows of Ushuaia. This time, Alexis Pinturault has chosen in first person and well in advance not to face the South American trip, in early September, given that the French national team itself (but the same goes for Italy, with the slalom group that already is certain not to go to Argentina) is still in doubt about the various restrictions and possibilities of mandatory quarantine. The winner of the 2020/21 World Cup has already decided: he will prepare himself on the alpine glaciers, starting again at the end of August in Les Deux Alpes or more likely Saas-Fee, as reported by the “Ski Chrono” portal. A preparation similar to that of last summer, after having already put together a good amount of skiing in April in his Courchevel. In the meantime, Pinturault continues to work hard on a physical level, during this week he will carry out the usual tests at Red Bull, in Salzburg, then he will return to his home in Annecy and, between bicycle, gym and athletics, there will be one last holiday week in early July before never stopping. Until the opening in Soelden, scheduled for men with the giant on October 24th.
