At 33, the winner of the last three downhill crystal balls began preparing. With the "Domme" injury he starts as a favorite, but extraordinary duels await us.

After that absolute World Cup touched in 2011/12, when Marcel Hirscher managed to bend it only at the finals in Schladming, Beat Feuz seemed unable to exit the tunnel of knee problems that were ruining an extraordinary talent.
Then things started to change with the final ones of Sankt Moritz in March 2016, this time with a very different aftertaste, which 4 years later brought him back to winning in the World Cup and giving a change to the second part of a career that he also saw him conquer the world descent title not even 12 months later in the same location in the Engadine.
The Swiss champion has resumed preparation in Zermatt, in the mega rally of the rossocrociata house in this month of July, and the approach to the debut of Lake Louise will have to pass from a job to be done only on the home glaciers, for the impossibility to face the trip to South America. Feuz will go on the hunt for consecutive descent cup poker, after the series triumphs from 2018 to 2020, when the duels with Dominik Paris marked a period of simply the highest level and splendid for all fans; the stop of "Domme" has arrived on the most beautiful, but if the blue ace manages to recover from the first races to 100%, or at least close to the previous level, there will be fun considering that, from Dressen to Mayer, someone else could fit into the super challenge for the most coveted specialty crystal ball.
And then there will be Cortina 2021 and, as regards both Feuz and Paris, the dream of Olympic gold; in PyeongChang the Swiss was second in super-g and third in descent, just ahead of Dominik who, with five-circle medals, has not yet won.
Thinking about the World Cup, Beat can only be happy with the confirmation in the long-term calendars of Wengen, a fiefdom where he has already triumphed three times, while a splendid collection of classics is in fact missing only the triumph in Kitzbuehel. Where the King is Dominik Paris and, next January, we will see some beautiful ones.
