Ted Ligety always needs challenges and new stimuli; as known for months, there will not only be the World Cup this year in the calendar of the three-time giant champion who, among other things, with the exception of the "home" super-g of Beaver Creek has chosen to dedicate himself only to his favorite specialty. No parallel giant in Alta Badia, but above all no Alpine combined in Bormio (where he could have obtained a good result), to return to the States and train on the snows of Deer Valley, the Utah station where he is now at home.

World Pro Ski Tour: Thursday 2 January, Ligety will participate in the qualifications of the second stage of the American circuit (the first in Vail in mid-December, then there will be another four), which is proposed with the landing of one of the most loved champions, to grow over the years to compete in some way with the World Cup, so far objectively unattainable for any other competition around the globe.
In Steamboat Springs, on the snows of Colorado, the good Ted will try his hand in this new adventure: "For me it is a great challenge, having to integrate it with training and commitments in the World Cup".
The American champion, in fact, will then return to Europe to participate, Saturday 11 January, in the fourth giant of the season in that of Adelboden; Ligety's start to the season was good, if we think above all about 5th place in Soelden and the first heat of Beaver Creek, when he seemed to have the right credentials to return to the podium in his other favorite track, for finish at the end of the 11th. The exit in the 1st round on the Gran Risa, when he was traveling on excellent times, concluded the first part of his vintage, which will resume on Chuenisbargli and then continue on February 2nd with the giant from Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
