An injury at the very beginning of the summer preparation on the snow, in the meeting with the technical disciplines team as regards the group B1-B2, essentially that of the young people who will shuttle between the European Cup and the World Cup.
Giovanni Franzoni is now a reference for all the Italian talents, ready to play his chances in the maximum circuit constantly (with the objective of the Olympic pass for the Beijing Games), after the beginnings of last season between Alta Badia and Adelboden, but also the great World Championship in Cortina and obviously the world champion gold at jr level in Bansko in super-g (with silver in giant). Last Monday, "flying" in training in Les Deux Alpes, the twenty-year-old under the Fiamme Gialle got a fracture in his left collarbone that will force him to stop for a few weeks, with the surgery scheduled for Monday morning at the hospital Galeazzi of Milan.
Through the press office that takes care of the communication, Franzoni talked about his injury: “It could have been worse - confesses the multipurpose from Brescia - so now I just think that the sooner I operate, the sooner I can get back on track.
I hope to be in the room with my friend Alessandro Pizio, who will have to be operated on like me (the man from Bergamo has to undergo a new operation after the one last January, ed). Together we will overcome it faster ... ".
