In Japan we smile: Yuzawa Naeba's men's races are confirmed

Four years after the last appearance, the Japanese snow will return to the giant on Saturday 22nd and the slalom on Sunday 23rd February. The snow check of the FIS has been positive, instead it is expected for women in Maribor.

There was some doubt about the goodness of the preparation of the slopes, since snow is scarce even in those parts, but the FIS officially confirmed today, after the usual snow check, the men's races that will be held on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 February in Yuzawa Naeba, with a giant and a slalom in the Japanese resort that hosted the World Cup for the last time four years ago, when Alexis Pinturault won the wide doors and Felix Neureuther between the narrow posts. As is known, it should have been the second consecutive stage in Asia after Yanqing, but the fast races in China were moved (due to Coronavirus) to Saalbach, on 13-14 February. Then there will be plenty of time to fly to Japan for two technical tests that could clearly be decisive in the fight for the crystal ball and will be staged, both in the case of the giant and the slalom, with heats scheduled at 2 and 5 in the morning Italian time. Instead, the ok is still awaited for the women's races (giant and slalom) in Maribor on 15-16 February, where the situation is far from rosy ...
