The 27 year old from Salzburg, who fell today in the super-g of the combined Bormio, broke the front crusader and the head of the tibia. Just after getting the best career result.

He was back from the best day, that of his first top 20 in the World Cup, with the 17th place in the downhill race of Bormio that had allowed him to get the best result of his career.
Not even 24 hours later, Christopher Neumayer experienced the drama of a new stop, this time very heavy, following the fall remedied in the super-g of today's combined on the Stelvio: flown against the nets in the Carcentina area, the 27 year old from Salzburg gave suffered clear signs of how serious the injury was.
Like the previous day for teammate Hannes Reichelt, the Austrian was taken away by helicopter and, in the evening and after the visit to Innsbruck, he received the merciless verdict for the left knee crash: break of the front crusader and tibia head, with the season obviously over and recovery times that promises to be very long.
Operation on Monday, then the long process to try to get back on skis by the 2020/21 season, while Austria continues to lose pieces.
