Luitz, who inhaled oxygen through a mask between one round and the other of the Beaver Creek World Cup men's giant in the starting area and under the eyes of all, evidently being the staff of Germany convinced that the FIS rules and those of the WADA, which does not prohibit the intake of oxygen, were compliant, would thus lose its first victory in the World Cup in favor of Marcel Hirscher.
The head of German Alpine skiing Wolfgang Maier confirmed the receipt of a letter regarding the possible disqualification at the end of the current male super-G in Val Gardena. Now the German federsci has 15 days to reply. If he accepts the decision, Luitz will be removed from the order of arrival of the Beaver Creek race. Maier said he wanted a German translation of the letter before officially responding to the FIS.
