The season of one of the most anticipated men in ski Croatia has started in the worst way.
Elias Kolega, born in 1996, who obtained a 6th place in the Adelboden slalom in January 2019 as the best result in the World Cup (suffering more in the 2019/2020 vintage), broke his right leg in course of a dry training on the island of Mljet, in practice the base chosen by Ante Kostelic to guide their students.
The most experienced of the brothers was in fact working with the legendary dad of Ivica and Janica and in the company of the same brother Samuel (almost 3 years younger) and mom Sonja, who follows his career from the beginning, when he fell to get an injury that required immediate transport to the hospital in Dubrovnik, where he was operated on Tuesday evening by Dr. Ivan Bencic. As the portal dubrovniknet.hr revealed at first, later confirmed in the afternoon by the Croatian federsci, Elias Kolega will have to stay in the pits at least a few months, with the possibility of putting the skis back in September, after being inserted in his leg an intramedullary nail in the tibia area.
