Switzerland meets Carlo Janka: the veteran from Graubünden among those called up for Bormio with the Olympic goal

After having skipped the first three speed stages, the winner of the 2010 cup is ready to try starting from a very hard "Stelvio". He still waits for Lara Gut-Behrami in Lienz.

Switzerland finds Carlo Janka and, at the same time, has yet to give up Mauro Caviezel, who risks losing the entire Olympic season having not yet recovered from the injury suffered in training, almost a year ago, in Garmisch. Beijing 2022 is precisely Janka's goal, who triumphed in giant size in Vancouver 2010 and will now have to win the pass for the Games in the great classics, starting with the Bormio triptych for which he was included among the 14 squad members red cross; only after the two tests on Sunday and Monday, will the owners decide for the descent on Tuesday 28th and for the super-gs of the following two days. The veteran from Graubünden, we remember, also had to live with the usual back problems in the summer-autumn period, putting together 8-10 days of skiing and thus postponing his debut, after having skipped the two North American speed stages, in Lake Louise and Beaver Creek, and then the first European in Val Gardena. Together with Janka, for the challenge at the "Stelvio" we find in the list the Beat Feuz and Marco Odermatt headlights, an athlete already able to touch the victory in Valtellina like Urs Kryenbuehl, that Niels Hintermann back from the great 3rd place in the descent on the Saslong , as well as Stefan Rogentin, Ralph Weber, Gilles Roulin, Lars Roesti, Yannick Chabloz, Justin Murisier, Loic Meillard, Gino Caviezel and Thomas Tumler.
