The holder of the World Cup will be at the start, on 29 and 30 December, in the second and third races on the "Stelvio": the transalpine does not want to give up despite Odermatt's escape.

Initially, after the enormous disappointment of the giants on the Gran Risa (15th and 18th place), Alexis Pinturault had decided to give up the two super-gs scheduled in Bormio (the second recovery of the one canceled at Lake Louise ).
Clear words, expressed after the two days in Alta Badia, on the subject of the general World Cup: “At this moment it makes no sense for me to talk about a crystal ball”. Then, the night in Campiglio rekindled hope in the champion of Courchevel, capable of winning 80 points in a specialty where the ups and downs have always been a ... constant for Alexis; a couple of days to reflect and here came the decision of the French champion to take part in the speed stage on the “Stelvio”.
Pinturault will not compete in tests and descents on December 28th, but will be at the starting gate both Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th for two super-gs that could allow him not to lose further ground from the leader Odermatt, who already precedes him by 319 points, to try then to mend with the slalom of the month of January. The holder of the crystal ball did well in the first two super-gs of the season at Beaver Creek, on both occasions closing in sixth, and in a very technical challenge like that of Bormio he will be able to defend himself very well. Last year, he was twelfth in the super-g on the Stelvio.
