Not only Paris and Moelgg: Italci awaits Maurberger, a talent that blossomed before the stop

The growth of the 25 year old in the Ahrntal Valley was exponential, until the crash to the crusader in that damned parallel of Chamonix. How far can Simon go?

Over the span of a month, the men's Italsci lost Manfred Moelgg, Dominik Paris and Simon Maurberger, practically for the same type of injury, the "classic" anterior cruciate of the knee. If the veteran of the giant and slalom team was experiencing a more than good year, with that of "Domme" on simply extraordinary levels, even the 25 year old from Valle Aurina stopped right on the most beautiful and in the race which, by characteristics and trend, it could also have brought him for the first time on a World Cup podium, that February 9 in the parallel giant of Chamonix. Maurberger's growth has been constant and continuous for the past two years, and this bodes well for a return already at excellent levels in the vintage of the World Championships in Cortina 2021, albeit with the unknown factors of the case for the recovery from an injury of this guy; just think that, until January 2019, Simon had obtained some points in the World Cup, but with only the 15th place in the Garmisch giant 2017 as ring (using the bib in the 2nd heat to reassemble up to the top 15) . Then, in that season finale, there was the triumph in the general classification of the European Cup, with four partial successes in three different disciplines (slalom, giant and combined), another 15th place in the CdM in the giant of Adelboden and the bronze of Are, in the team event in which Maurberger was a leading actor with heats of the highest level in a specialty he likes very much like the parallel.
