The young transalpine sprinter was injured in the downhill valid for the Monegasque championships; for the 23-year-old who this year competed in his second race in CdM, a minor surgery is possible due to a problem with his thumb ligaments.

A sigh of relief, not to end the season that saw him compete in his second World Cup race, on the occasion of the (unfinished) super-g in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, with an injury that could also have compromised the '' entire first part of the preparation towards the next vintage.
Sam Alphand, 23-year-old sprinter from Serre Chevalier, tenth in the descent of the French championships in Chatel, crashed in the same location yesterday during the race valid for the Monegasque national review. A fracture to the thumb of the hand was feared, but this morning excluded from the further tests carried out. Only a minor operation may be required for a ligament injury which will be reevaluated within a week after the joint has deflated.
