The opening of the 2020/21 World Cup is guaranteed, given that the organizers will do everything possible for any dispute behind closed doors. The advance of the female giant is a very likely solution.

Just over three months at the opening, the one that for twenty years has been hosted by Soelden on the Rettenbach glacier which, never like the next 24-25 October, will experience a very particular World Cup premiere.
The situation linked to the world pandemic has led the organizing committee and FIS to study all possible hypotheses, but everything is still open as, moreover, it is the situation related to calendars in general, given the willingness of the International Federation to confirm in most of the original program, however grouping the races as much as possible to avoid greater displacements and therefore risks.
The partial solution to anticipate the female giant scheduled for Saturday morning by at least 24 hours, as emerged a few weeks ago, is decidedly probable and has also been confirmed in recent days on the columns of the "Tiroler Tageszeitung"; the entire pre-race conference program must be assessed (and certainly reduced) at the same time, a highly anticipated moment as the launch of the season, also and above all for companies and commercial partners.
Closed doors? According to the Austrian Federsci, it would not be an insurmountable problem, on the contrary, but we will still try to have contingent entrances to the glacier, in order to better manage the whole situation. And dividing the two inaugural giants of the next World Cup by at least 48 hours (women on Friday, men confirmed on Sunday) would go in that direction.
