The La Thuile races will have limited public access, but there will be the possibility for fans to follow the super-g and combined on the spot, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday on the "3 Franco Berthod".
After confirming the stage of the Women's World Cup, in the evening here is the communication from the organizers on the measures taken in terms of precaution for the Coronavirus-related situation; in essence, access to the finish area will be allowed only to spectators with a nominative entrance ticket, without providing free spaces for the public.
In addition, the public ceremony scheduled for the afternoon of Saturday 29, with the super-g prize giving and the bib numbers for the combined race, has been canceled and the awards for the two races will take place directly on the competition field.
News also arrives regarding the World Cup finals, scheduled from 18 to 22 March (with tests of the descent at the start on Monday 16) in Cortina d''Ampezzo; the Cortina 2021 Foundation confirmed the tenders, in the current state of affairs and despite the emergency affecting the Veneto region, but the FIS would still have prepared a plan B which, if necessary, would be implemented by Sunday.
If there are no further problems, the races will take place but "behind closed doors", as Markus Waldner anticipated to the Swedish media SVT. Even in this case, however, the evolution of the situation will be expected.
