On the occasion of the Are World Championships, the FIS Council was held, which had on its agenda the organization and the proposal of the topics to be discussed at the next meeting of May in Cavtat-Dubrovnik, in Croatia.

Among the points under discussion there was the 'expected replacement of the combined Alpine with the parallel: the' Executive Board proposed the change from the next editions of the World Cup, World Cup and Olympics, the final decision will be taken in meeting of the International Ski Federation November. In anticipation of a definitive position, the Council decided to include both specialties in the program of the races of the world championship held in Cortina in 2021, while a working group will review the combined format and the strategies of the upcoming calendars of the World Cup. In addition, the Council has decided that La Thuile will take the place of Meribel in the women's calendar next season with a descent on Saturday 29 February 2020 and a super-G on Sunday 1 March. The Aosta Valley location will be back in Circo Rosa four years after the two descents and the super-G played in 2016. Postponed instead the men's slalom at night of Madonna di Campiglio, which had already been moved to December 30, 2019 because the usual December 22 was occupied by the giant of Alta Badia but now it was further postponed to 8 January 2020. Finally the Thai Pattaya City was confirmed as the venue of the 52nd Fis Congress in spring 2020, while the next Congress will be defined during the next conference on calendars of Cavtat-Dubrovnik.
