Waiting for the World Cup calendars, Soelden is ready with fresh snow and ... bubbles

In the next few hours the announcement of the FIS on the (many) changes to the calendar. No snow problems for the opening.

Everyone is waiting for the "new" calendars of the 2020/21 World Cup, with the expected changes at both the male and female level, starting from the races that will replace the North American stages canceled due to Covid. Saturday is the key day in FIS, which tomorrow afternoon will then announce the location designated to host the Alpine Skiing World Championships in 2025. In the meantime, one of the few certainties is that the Soelden opening is safe under every point of view: today a meeting defined in detail the anti Covid bubbles to be respected, already established in recent weeks for athletes, staff, organizers, guests and the media, with the closure of the Rettenbach glacier to tourists since Saturday. Audience that will not be able to witness two giants who, at least this year, will be "seasoned" by a beautiful setting even in terms of snow: last weekend's rainfall and those expected in the next few days, ensure that control of the FIS expected next week is a formality, in view of the women's race on Saturday 17 October and the men's one the following day. “Furthermore, we had already stored snow from last season,” added Soelden's piste manager, Isidor Gruener, to the APA agency. At least the start of a CdM that will have to live with the Covid nightmare, we will be able to enjoy it great.
