Pila and Aosta, the union is strength: from the 2021/2022 season the two companies will be together

Two historical realities of the Aosta Valley movement and a unique project. Let's find out ...

History and tradition that will come together, starting from the 2021/2022 season. Let's talk about the Pila ski club and the Aosta ski club: the first founded in 1948, the second in 1929, have embarked on an arm-in-arm joining forces since the next competitive year, to then become a single entity starting from the next. Pila and Aosta have been collaborating on the field for some time, but since January they have started the discussion to start a project that in some way goes against the current compared to what usually happens on the national scene. Merger is the watchword and a few days ago the new adventure began which will involve, for this year, the Young, Students and Boys categories. The Covid-19 pandemic did not affect the creation of this project: it was reasoning linked to a general decrease in the number of skiers and coaches who embarked on this path, in addition to very similar, if not equal, work programs and objectives that actually convinced these realities. Pila and Aosta therefore prefer to join forces to offer a valid project and raise the technical level. To date, the athletes of the Young, Students and Boys categories of the two companies are around 120 and the technical staff is composed of the technicians of Aosta and Pila already present on the track in recent years. There will be only one programming on the snow and in the gym, membership and administration for this year will remain separate. Young people under the responsibility of Umberto Fosson, Claudio Nieroz is the contact person for the students, while Alessandro Viérin takes care of the boys. Edoardo Cerise, national instructor, is the manager of the group of athletes who will focus on the selection of teachers, while athletic training is managed by Riccardo Grecchi. The Baby and Puppy categories for this season will continue on the line of the past, with an even stronger collaboration between the groups. On the track there will be a staff who will bring in the heart (and on the jackets) the name of the technician Roberto Fiabane, who took the first steps as an athlete and coach to the Aosta ski club and the Pila ski club, before starting his career at very high level. Edoardo Cerise, president of the Pila, said: “We live in a particular period and it would be foolish to continue on our own way. We have common objectives, we strongly believe in our project, as well as in that of Asiva, aimed at the Children categories and just presented ". Massimo Raffaelli, president of the Aosta, confirms: “We have talked about it for several months and now it is reality. An opportunity also for the Pila station. This year we decided to start with the older ones, but the goal is to become a new sports club. "
