FIS has outlined the guidelines for the 2020/21 vintage, with the recovery of the Flying World Championships in Planica and the historic debut of the women's Nordic combined World Cup.

Nordic jumping and combined are already thinking about the next season, even if the situation linked to Covid-19 leaves many doubts thinking first of all about the summer programming and the Summer Grand Prix.
In recent days, the sub-committee of the International Federation has in any case defined the preliminary calendar for the Coppa deMondo, to be approved definitively in the next month of September.
Speaking of jumping, the beauty of 38 races in 20 different locations is planned in the men's field, with Planica the great protagonist after the cancellation of the World Championships in March; the world championship event in the Slovenian town will be recovered from 11 to 13 December, before returning to it at the end of March for the usual grand finale of the season. The start of the men's season is expected again in Wisla, on 21-22 November, with the Oberstdorf world championships scheduled from February 23 to March 7, 2021 and the junior championships in Zakopane, from February 1 to 7.
As for the women's sector, 26 events scheduled with some "holes" in the calendar and locations to be defined, with the certainty (Covid-19 permitting ...) that it will start on 5-6 December in Lillehammer.
NORDIC COMBINED
The FIS has also defined the preliminary calendar of the next Nordic combined World Cup, with the historic debut of a women's circuit and obviously the assignment of world titles in that of Oberstdorf. For the girls, the first two races at the beginning of December in Lillehammer, then Otepae on January 2-3 and the grand finale of Schonach.
In the men's field there are 31 races over 14 stages, with a couple of dates yet to be defined. Certainly the season will start as usual with the Ruka Opening, on Finnish trampolines and snows from 27 to 29 November; from 15 to 17 January the three days in Val di Fiemme, with the two individual races and the sprint team, up to the Beijing stage, prelude to the German World Cup starting from the end of February, and the grand finale clearly in Schonach, which this year he had to give up the final races.
