Roller Ski World Cup: only Klaebo and Taugboel ahead of Emanuele Becchis in the 2nd stage

In Norway the hosts still dominate, but the first blue podium at senior level arrives with the Sprint specialist. Among the women Sordello comes out in the quarters, jr podium for Aksel Artusi.

Emanuele Becchis took third place in the first Sprint of the Roller Ski World Cup, which is currently experiencing its opening round in Telemark County, Norway. The 29-year-old from Bovesan was only mocked at the photo finish for second place by the Norwegian Haavard Taugboel, while the race went to that champion who goes by the name of Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo, to embellish a very high level race. Matteo Tanel and Tommaso Dellagiacoma had stopped at the semifinals, in battery with Klaebo himself, while they had had to surrender in the quarter-finals, again as regards Italy, Michele Valerio, Alberto Della Via, Jacopo Giardina, Michael Galassi and Riccardo Masiero . In the women's race, the hosts scored a hat-trick with Mathilde Myhrvold in first place with a time of 2''38 ”41, leading Lotta Weng by 0” 41 and Ane Stenseth by 0 ”93. Elisa Sordello, the only Italian to have passed the qualifying phase, stopped in the quarter-finals. For the junior category good third place at the male level for the 2005 class Aksel Artusi, who came behind the Chinese Guoming Cheng and the winner, the Latvian Lauris Kaparkalejs; among the women, as in the seniors, another Norwegian hat-trick with Milla Andreassen winning over her national team mates Mabel Amundsen and Tuva Bruvseen-Jensen. Anna Maria Ghiddi, on the podium on Friday, was classified in ninth position.
