Matteo Tanel to defend his home World Cup title: Bolshunov will also be in Val di Fiemme

Skiroll: from 16 to 19 September the great world championship appointment, with the blue that launches the challenge. "It will be a show, we are very motivated".

It will be a special September for Val di Fiemme, with the Roller Ski World Championships scheduled from 16 to 19 with the Interval Start, Sprint, Team Sprint and Final Climb challenges. In the four days of competition, between Ziano di Fiemme, Passo Lavazè and the splendid ascent to Alpe Cermis, the protagonists of the world roller ski will compete in search of a medal and a world title with a flavor of rebirth, which will celebrate the restart after a 2020 in which this discipline was unable to express itself due to the pandemic. The time has come to unleash the horses on the asphalt and put on a show in the land that has always accompanied the best sporting events, the Val di Fiemme. Among the big names announced there will also be Matteo Tanel from Bolzano, who will have the arduous task of defending the world title won in 2019 in Latvia. The blue is charged and prepared for this appointment: “At the next World Championships in Val di Fiemme it will be tough, I will have to defend the world title, but it will not be easy at all. We will run at home and this will give us even more motivation to try to do well. We know the tracks perfectly, I can't wait to be able to race at home and show what our team wants to achieve ”. An incentive to do well, as mentioned, will come from the fact that we will compete in Val di Fiemme, a place dear to the Italian roller skis, which between the cross-country center of Lago di Tesero and Passo Lavazè often hold rallies with the national team for prepare appointments like next September. Then there will be the public component, which should not be underestimated in view of the World Championships: “It is always a spectacle to come to Val di Fiemme. People are passionate about these sports, cross-country skiing and roller skis, take to the streets to cheer and always manage to create a good atmosphere. In my opinion it is one of the most beautiful places where you can run a World Championship ”. All ready to put on a show, therefore, all the more so now that the confirmation of the presence of two very important names on the international cross-country scene has arrived from Russia, namely Alexander Bolshunov and Natalia Nepryaeva, who will be at the start of the next World Championships in Fiemme. In this regard, Matteo Tanel has clear ideas about what the opponents will try to do: “Obviously they will all come to try to beat us. We race at home and have this extra motivation on our side, but it will be the same for our competitors who want to try to beat us on our tracks. For sure there will be some great challenges ”. Now all that remains is to wait for the quick passage of this month and a half that leads to the World Championships in Val di Fiemme, with an Italian national team ready and united to fight for the conquest of the titles. The group is cohesive and everyone helps each other starting from training, as Tanel himself admits: “There is a good atmosphere in the group. Between the so-called Italjet of the sprinters and us “single-speed” of the distance we help each other with the aim of improving ourselves: we learn from the sprinters to sprint, while they learn from us to make less effort over long distances ”. In short, there is less and less to go to the World Cup next September and the expectation begins to grow exponentially. In the meantime, registrations are open for the “Open & Master” Mass Start test of 15 km in classic technique which will start on Sunday 19 September from Ziano di Fiemme. With a fee of only 20 euros it will be possible to take part in the FISI promotional race, with the aim of reaching the intermediate station of Alpe Cermis along the road that a few hours later will be the scene of the world roller ski test. A show for true lovers of fatigue, but Matteo Tanel has no doubts and feels like giving advice to all supporters and roller ski enthusiasts: "Come to the World Championships in Val di Fiemme because ... there will be some good ones ".
