Manuela Malsiner, at 23, says enough: the farewell to competition by the athlete from Val Gardena is official, who has suffered so much in recent years due to injuries, whose series began right after the successes most beautiful, with the junior world title won in 2017 and the first podium in the World Cup. “I've been jumping since I was 7 - wrote Manuela in her social message - Ski jumping has been my life until now; it was a great chapter with some glorious moments, but also difficult ones due to the many injuries.
I've been thinking about it for some time. I tried to react, but now I have decided to end my career. However I enjoyed every single minute and without the jump I would not be the person I am now. I would like to thank everyone who was involved and who supported me on my journey. First of all my parents and my family: my boyfriend Brian, thank you for your patience, Romed (Moroder, ed) who introduced me to this sport and all the coaches, physiotherapists and technical staff found along my Street.
Thanks to my military group, the Fiamme Gialle, the Fisi and the Ski Club Gardena. Special thanks also to all my sponsors, especially Visit Suedtirol who has always trusted us. Thanks to all my teammates for putting up with my madness. And last but not least, thanks to my fans, it wouldn't have been the same without you. Ski jumping will always be a part of my life, so I'm sure we'll meet again on the trampolines ”.
