The Tour de Force of the ski jumping continues in Finland, Lahti, one of the great classics of the discipline as the maximum circuit has hosted competitions in all seasons except 1988 - 89'' and 2000 -'' 01, years in which, however, organized the Nordic World Ski Championships.

The resort located in the southwest of Finland, about 100 km north-east of the capital Helsinki, is preparing to host events then the maximum circuit for the thirty-third season.
Overall in Lahti were held with 49 individual races counting towards the crystal ball to which must be added 9 competitions with iridescent value belonging to 6 different editions of the World Cup (1926, 1938 1958 1978 1989 2001) which, however, return a seventh Once in Päijät-Häme in 2017.
They will compete on the Large Hill (K 116 - HS 130) of Salpausselän hyppyrimäet complex of trampolines which takes its name from Salpausselkä, a series of enormous moraines in the Southern Finland. In history there have so far climbed to the top step of the podium 26 athletes representing 10 different countries. The Finn Matti Nykänen, Germany's Martin Schmitt and the Polish Adam Malysz are record holders in terms of success having excelled in 3 occasions.
There are five active athletes have to set it at least once on the large trampoline Salpausselän hyppyrimäet. It's Janne Ahonen (1998 and 2000), Simon Ammann (2010 and 2011), Bjørn Einar Romøren (2004), Janne Happonen (2006) and Richard Freitag (2013).
The voice dominates the nations Finland with 12 hits. In second place Germany (5), followed by Austria (4) and Norway (4). They are then Japan (3), Poland (3) Canada (2), Switzerland (2), Italy (1) and Slovenia (1).
The Italian success is dated March 7, 1993 and bears the signature of Ivan Lunardi. Previously, the brother Virginio had placed second in 1990.

Finland is the leading country for top-three at a height of 34. In the second position,'' Austria (19), followed by Norway (16), Germany (13), Poland (8), Japan (5), Slovenia (4), Canada (3) East Germany (3), Switzerland ( 2), Czechoslovakia (2), Czech Republic (2), Italy (2) and Sweden (1).
The official record of the trampoline belongs to the'' Austrian Andreas Widhölzl, landed at 135.5 meters (over 5.5 l'' Hs) in 2006.
In recent years it has happened that for problems related to the strong wind the race, originally scheduled to Large Hill, has been translocated on Normal Hill. On the small trampoline between active athletes boast a victory Noriaki Kasai (back in 1993), Gregor Schlierenzauer (2009) and Daiki Ito (2013).
