Bob and skeleton, the Azzurri for the Altenberg World Cup: Margaglio-Gaspari want an encore

Ten athletes in total engaged in the world championship in Germany: the great hopes are pinned on the Piedmontese and the Cortinese.

It is time for world championships also for bobsleigh and skeleton, on the German track of Altenberg. In the first case, six Azzurri have been called up: they are Patrick Baumgartner, Eric Fantazzini, Mattia Variola, Lorenzo Bilotti, Costantino Ughi and Alex Verginer. The program of the world championship foresees the dispute of the two women's bobsleigh (where Italy is absent) on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 February, while on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 it will be the men's bobsleigh. A few days off and then the grand final is scheduled for Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th, when the four heats (two per day) of the four-man bob will be disputed. Four instead the standard bearers of the national team for the world event dedicated to the skeleton. There will be Amedeo Bagnis, Mattia Gaspari, Valentina Margaglio and Alessia Crippa. The program of the world championship includes the dispute of the men's and women's tests on the four heats between Thursday 11 and Friday 12 February, while Saturday 13 will be the turn of the mixed race, where Gaspari and Margaglio won a historic bronze medal last year, always on the same track. And the Piedmontese, already close to the podium several times in the World Cup, can also compete in the individual competition.
