Second victory of the season for the Russian (he had won ex-aequo with Dukurs in Igls) in the race that also assigned the European title, where Dukurs was the reigning champion for twelve years. For Nikitina, on the other hand, this is the fourth European title, becoming the most successful athlete ever in this race.

In the race that also awarded the European title, Alexander Tretiakov mocked everyone by triumphing over Winterberg's gut. The 35-year-old Russian managed to beat Latvian Martins Dukurs, who until now had been the real ruler of this season. Third step of the podium, as well as European bronze medal, for the German Alexander Gassner.
Bad day for the only blue in the race: Mattia Gaspari makes a serious mistake at the start in the first heat, putting his foot under the sled and losing several tenths, which does not allow him to enter the winds and therefore qualify for the final heat. Absent Amedeo Bagnis and Manuel Schwaerzer engaged in tests on the St. Moritz track.
In the women's race success for Elena Nikitina, who thus conquers her fourth European gold and with eleven victories in the World Cup she is less than one from Anja Huber's record; for the twenty-eight year old Russian this is the second success of the season. Just six cents behind the Nikitna is the German Tina Hermann, third instead the Austrian Janine Flock.
A step back from the last excellent performances the two blue in the race: Valentina Margaglio closes eleventh, while Alessia Crippa sixteenth.
