In Austria the first stage of the maximum circuit: Lanthaler, Gruber and the double of Pigneter-Clara lead the national team looking for another record-breaking season.

The 2022/23 World Cup begins also for the Azzurri of luge on a natural track. The new technical director Leander Moroder has summoned fifteen athletes for the first time on the gut of Winterleiten, in Austria, with the debut scheduled for Friday 16 December with the men's single competition.
Alex Gruber, Matthias Lambacher, Patrick Lambacher, Florian Clara, Alex Oberhofer, Daniel Gruber, Patrick Pigneter, Hannes Unterholzner, Anton Gruber Genetti, Evelin Lanthaler, Greta Pinggera, Jenny Castiglioni, Daniela Mittermair, Ivonne Mueller and Nadine Staffler will be present.
The Italian national team presents itself as the team to beat, after last season, yet another full of triumphs, secured all the available titles thanks to the victory of the general classification in the women's singles with the sixth World Cup (fifth in a row) by Evelin Lanthaler, with the men's single by Alex Gruber and the thirteenth crystal ball of the double composed by Pigneter-Clara.

Alla Gazzetta dello Sport, il direttore tecnico della nazionale femminile ha aggiunto qualche dettaglio sui motivi del rientro anticipato di Sofia dal Sudamerica, rinunciando al blocco in Cile che era previsto dopo quanto di buono fatto per due settimane abbondanti a Ushuaia specialmente sul gigante. Nelle prossime ore gli accertamenti medici: Non li abbiamo fatti in Argentina perchè non c'era la possibilità di approfondire al meglio.
